Xochiquetzal is the Mexican Goddess of beauty, fertility, female sexual power, nature, and weaving. Her name means “flower precious feather” or “flower quetzal feather“and she is always represented as a young lady or woman. I have incorporated all these elements into my styling.

The cob of corn, the corn tortillas, the Cempasuchil (marigold) arch, and the serpent represent Nature (Earth), the rabbit represents Fertility. The weaved fabric in my clothing represent The Arts, The eagle and feather headdress represent the Sun.

It is said, Xochiquetzal seduced a priest then turned him into a scorpion as a mark of her female power.
